Host Holiday & Visitor Rule

 

Host Holidays

1.        Temporary Host Arrangements

If you plan to go on holiday, HHA will assign a temporary host for your student. This ensures continuity of care during your absence.

·       Temporary hosts will be paid $60 per day to accommodate your student.

·       The cost will be deducted from your next payment as the original host.

2.        Holidays Longer Than 4 Weeks

If your holiday is longer than four weeks, the student will be re-placed with the temporary host at the long-term homestay rate ($360 per week).

📌 Advance notice is essential. Please notify HHA of your holiday plans as early as possible to allow sufficient time to arrange suitable care for your student.

 

Visitors to the Host Home

1.        Mandatory Notification to HHA

Hosts are required to inform HHA in advance of any guests or visitors who may come into contact with the student—especially if the visitor will stay overnight.

2.        WWCC (Working With Children Check)

Any adult who will spend time with the student (whether staying overnight or not) must undergo a Working With Children Check (WWCC). HHA can assist with this process if notified in advance.

3.        If One of the Main Carers Is Away

If one of the carers is away (for business, travel, or any other reason), this must be communicated to HHA ahead of time, even if the other adult remains at home.

⚠️ This is a child safety requirement.
